October 29 Radio Show: Peter Hesse Serves Haiti Through Montessori Schools – Emotional Pro

October 22nd, 2009

German businessman Peter Hesse reveals details of his projects to serve Haiti’s underprivileged and poverty-stricken communities through the establishment of a system of Montessori schools to educate its youngest citizens.  He appears on Internet radio’s Full Power Living 9 a.m. PT October 29, 2009.  Chat live on the site or call toll-free, 800-630-7858.

Peter Hesse traveled to the Caribbean in 1981 for a vacation.  He found it difficult to dance and have a good time amidst the tremendous poverty of Haitian life.  Returning to Germany, he vowed to return the following year, bringing sewing machines and materials for Haitian families to make clothes to wear and sell.  9 of his business colleagues contributed.  He discovered that sewing machines given to a family would be sold, usually to pay for medical care, so he sought a better way to help.  The result is more than 25 years of selecting and training preschool teacher to conduct early childhood education according to the methods and teaching of Maria Montessori.  Hesse’s methods are now being adapted to other impoverished areas of the world.  He appears on Full Power Living on October 29 to share his story.
