The Genesis of Love with Guy Finley – Emotional Pro

February 22nd, 2007

2/22/2007 Thursday 9am to 10am Pacific Time
Guy Finley is one of the most prolific authors focused on human consciousness and growth. He’s with us to discuss the ideas from a summer, 2006, recording of a lecture series on The Genesis of Love. Finley delves into the heart of Higher Love, helping you to glimpse how Love transforms and enriches all relationships and every aspect of day-to-day living, including special techniques to help you enter into and engage the forces of love. Most fitting for the Valentine’s Day week!
Relationships Help Us Discover Ourselves
Guy tells us of the “Eternal School,” so we talk about how relationships help us discover ourselves. He points out that life is not a “race” we need to win, but is a school of higher education. Experiences in relationships are not punishing, but help us to see what is concealed within ourselves. He reminds us that “what is concealed cannot be healed” as he talks about Love, “the signle most empowering principle.”
Life is Not Possession, But Participation
What does “participation” in life mean? Love, of course! Guy and Ilene explore “The Museum of Me,” with an example from Ilene’s life. Guy explains how resistance to another’s behavior means we are not confirmed as we want to be. Going to The Source–Love, can transform us out of “dark” or negative experiences, and leave others room to grow, too.
Right Now Is Where We Start
Guy says there is something in each one of us that doesn’t want us to know love, which allows us to re-live events from the past (usually painful events) and/or plan for a better life. What’s the way out of this morass? Give a moment’s love to something we have love for. Give yourself to what you love. He talks about the waves of compassion and love and how to work with them so that they lead us to discover that there is something inside not subject to cycles. And, of course, we’re back then to The Genesis of Love!
