The number of grandparents raising their grandchildren has been skyrocketing in recent years. Grandparents have already done their job of raising kids, yet the love they have for the children of their own children is so great that they give up those “golden years” of basking in retirement, and go back to helping with homework, attending school meetings, throwing kid birthday parties and feeling exhausted too much of the time. Many grandparents also face additional issues, such as grief in themselves and their grandchildren because something has happened to the parents of those grandchildren, rendering them unable to continue to parent their children. There are also financial hardships, legal hassles, acting-out children, technology and faster-paced living. Sylvie De Toledo saw all this and created a way to help.
