Carol Smaldino is a certified social worker who has been in private practice 25 years. After working with the Manhattan Bureau of Child Welfare with unmarried mothers and a Child and Youth Project, and in a residential treatment center for very disturbed children, Carol turned to writing. She is the author of In the Midst of Parenting, Visions of Clarity of a Dancing Mind, and Distraction: A Cultural Emergency.
