Controversy – Emotional Pro

May 11th, 2006

Just over a week ago, I spent two intensive days working with Bradley Communication’s Quantum Leap program. It’s a lot about marketing, so that I can take the “Quantum Leap” of actually getting my information and ideas out to the world, and simultaneously create an income for myself. Since one of the “issues” that has been incomplete since childhood involves money, income and support for myself, this seems appropriate to do at this time. I am determined to “get” this lesson about money, including letting the world know I desire to make lots of it, before I die!
One of the things we were told is that people respond to controversy. Since the main thrust of my life and work for over 40 years has been to divest my own life, and the lives of others, of controversy and argument, this is quite an about face! I can feel my resistance. Yet, I need help, so here goes.
The working title of my book is “Born to Learn,” which alludes to the fact that our earth is a Giant School to which we have all come in order to learn. I eliminated such ideas as “Life as School,” “Our Giant School,” etc. because I got feedback from one person: “I hated school. Lots of people hate school. They won’t buy your book if you tell them they are in school.” I, on the other hand, liked school and also think it is such a brilliant metaphor because everything I am attempting to share can be fit into the model.
Write me. Tell me “your side,” please. Are you intrigued by the idea of the earth as a “Giant School;” or are you put off by it? If you saw a newspaper headline next month saying “Students graduate, yet never finish school,” would it intrigue you or put you off? Please let me know your opinion. And thanks, in advance, for your help!
