August 26 Radio Show: No One Will Ever Go Through Cancer Alone – Emotional Pro

August 24th, 2010

Nancy Novak, community organizer and cancer survivor, guests on Full Power Living Internet radio (www.emotionalpro.com or iTunes) 9 a.m. PT,  August 26, 2010, to discuss Nancy’s List, a grassroots effort to address the non-medical needs that accompany a cancer diagnosis … the psychological, emotional, social, spiritual, and economic concerns that those living with cancer face every day.

In 2004, clinical psychologist Nancy Novak was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer that had metastasized to her liver.  She launched Nancy’s List in February, 2008, after extensive conversations with leaders in the San Francisco Bay Area cancer community.  The organization is Nancy’s response to her own particular needs as a cancer patient/survivor and those needs she believes are shared by men, women, children, and teens facing this traumatic experience.  She was deeply troubled that cancer patients in her community were going through such struggles without information and support. Nancy vowed that no cancer patient need ever go through cancer alone.  She discusses this local model for successfully supporting cancer patients everywhere (now endorsed by the UCSF Cancer Resource Center, Kaiser Permanente in Marin County, Stanford University Cancer Center, and Marin General Cancer Resource Center for its comprehensive local and national resource listings) when she appears on Full Power Living (www.emotionalpro.com and iTunes) on August 26, 2010 at 9 a.m. PT.
