Most people think of hearts and flowers on Valentine’s Day. This year, we’re looking at the ways “love” can go wrong. Arteria Stevens has written a novel about Tweety, brought up in a Black Holiness Church and raised in the projects in Atlanta, Georgia, to consider and offer healing for such things as sexual abuse, depression, low self-esteem, and an unhealthy need to please. Her journey illustrates several principles, including On the earth, to get beyond something you must go through it; and Pay attention, not to what you want to overcome, but to what you want to Become. Tweety goes through her pain to find her way back “home” to her authentic self. Tweety, and those of us paying attention to her journey, shows the world how to embrace everything in life and turn in into something beneficial. Listen to this tender story and the things Tweety learns to do for her healing.
