AIDS Research of Candace Pert, Ph.D. and Michael Ruff, Ph.D., and Psychosomatic Wellness – Emotional Pro

April 5th, 2005

You may not have been aware as you lived the last 16 years of your life that Candace Pert, Ph.D. and research colleague Michael Ruff, Ph.D. were toiling away in the lab to find a way to slow down the spread of AIDS. Both Professors at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., they present their exciting laboratory results (their Peptide T keeps the virus from spreading from infected cells to healthy cells, for example)that have since resulted in clinical trials to prove the lab results work for people, too! "Psychosomatic Wellness" is a CD for those who want to heal themselves through music, color and meditation. They discuss both. Segment 1: Peptides: What They Are & How They Glue the Mindbody Together

Michael Ruff, Ph.D., immunologist and virologist, reveals the science behind mindbody medicine. Ruff explains how peptides are the sheet music that allows the orchestra–your body-to play as an integrated entity. The music that results is the…feeling you experience subjectively as your emotions, which in turn, run every system in the body. (Ruff appears alone because of a family emergency which precludes Pert’s participation.)

Segment 2: Chronic Diseases & Emotion; Peptide-T Research and AIDS
The problem of "encysting" when emotions are blocked, and how that leads to the inflammation of chronic, auto-immune diseases. Ruff introduces us to the story and facts of Peptide-T research, which promises a new, effective treatment for those with AIDS.

Segment 3: The Wonder of Peptide-T;
Ruff explains that clinical trials thus far show Peptide-T treatment to 1)suppress the AIDS virus, 2)inhibit entry (into healthy cells) by HIV, 3)decreases "resistance" usually encountered with AIDS treatment, 4)can create a complete suppression of the virus and eliminate "treatment resistant reservoirs" of resistant virus and 5) is non-toxic. Ruff makes a call to action with the NIH to move Peptide-T treatment further down the path toward availability for those suffering with AIDS/HIV. Description of "Psychosomatic Wellness," a CD of affirmations, meditations and specially-composed music that helps people re-balance for wellness maintenance.
